Mrs. J.J. Gwin Rites At Oakville Today

Funeral services for Mrs. J.J. Gwin, 74, were to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.O. Callis, at Germantown, the Rev. W.N. Drake officiating. Burial was to be in Oakville Cemetery.

Mrs. Gwin was a native of Holly Springs, Miss., but her parents moved the Memphis the year the city was occupied by the Federals, when she was 11 years old.

She died Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Callis. Surviving are her husband, J.J. Gwin; Mrs. Callis; three sons, J.E. and A. J. Gwin, Memphis, and J.M. Gwin, Dyersburg; and several brothers and sisters. J.W. Norris has charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services For Widow To Be Held Tomorrow

Services for Mrs. Della Viola Hartz, widow of Will Hartz, will be conducted at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at Thompson Brothers Mortuary by Dr. T.B. Hay. Burial will be in Forest Hill

Mrs. Hartz died at 9:25 o'clock Friday night at John Gaston Hospital following a two-year illness. She was 75, born in Shelby County and spent most of her life here. Her membership in recent years has been in Madison Heights Methodist Church and her home was a 1312 Azalia.

She leaves two sons, J.E. and Herbert H. Hartz of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. N.F. Winfield of Memphis, and Mrs. H. Dailey of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and a grandson, Jack Hartz of Memphis.

Della Viola Sanders Hartz (b. Sept. 29, 1868) was the daughter of George Washington Sanders and his second wife, Caroline Elizabeth Thorton
