BRADEN : located about one mile west of the old village of Concordia. In 1855 or 1856, the Memphis and Ohio Railroad (later consolidated with the L and N Railroad in 1871) route passed through Joseph P. Braden's property rather than Corcordia, resulting in the emergence of "Braden Station" and the eventual decline of Concordia. Braden Station's post office was established in 1859 with Christian Hassler appointed the first postmaster in 1860. The village name was changed to Braden in 1882 when Murrie J. Westbrook became postmaster. Braden was incorporated in 1970.

FAYETTE CORNER: located on the Old Jackson Road on the waters of Bear Creek. It is one of the earliest settled parts of the county because an Old Indian Trail came down (probably from Kentucky) to Denmark (Madison County). It crossed the Hatchie River at Estanaula (Haywood County) then passed through (what later would be called) Fayette Corner. Estanaula was an important shipping point for Fayette County pioneers. The post office at Fayette Corner was established on May 10, 1827 with John Haynes as the first postmaster; the post office was closed in 1906.

GALLAWAY: Established in 1855; named in honor of Thomas Gallaway, the first Gallaway to reside in Fayette County, an on whose land the railroad depot was placed. Gallaway became the shipping point for a large cotton district. The first post office was established in 1857 with Thomas S. Jackson as the first postmaster. However, the post office was misnamed, GALWAY; this error was not corrected until 1887. Gallaway was incorporated in 1869. In 1878, Galloway stores were closed and inhabitants fled the area due to the Yellow Fever epidemic. Gallaway was reincorporated in 1966.
