JONES, RAYNER, RAGAN, RACKS, OUTLAW -- Seeking information regarding the parents of May (or Mary) A. JONES, b. 1826 in VA, who married Eli RAYNER in 1841 in Fayette County (probably Oakland). One reference mentions a connection to Marcus B. RAGAN of Fayette County, but the relationship is uncertain. Eli Rayner and May A. Jones relocated to Memphis around 1853 and had children Juan Timoleon Rayner, Louisa C. Rayner Hodges, Irene Rayner Turley, Catharine Rayner, Ada Rayner, E. Whitfield Rayner, and Eli Rayner, Jr. (most b. in Fayette Co.). Eli Rayner, Sr. was the son of Elijah Rayner (d. 1844) and Catherine OUTLAW (d. 1861), both of whom d. in Fayette Co. (originally from Bertie Co., NC). According to Catharine Outlaw Rayner's will, Elijah Rayner had a niece named Nancy Rayner, and Catharine Outlaw Rayner had a niece named Christian RACKS. Isaac PRICE left a will in Mecklenburg Co, NC da 1833 in which he bequeathed "my Hatchy (Hutchy?) land in Fayette Co, TN" which consist of 426 acres to be divided equally between his sons Thomas Burrell PRICE and John James PRICE.
